Tavon Learning Center is a nonprofit organization serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families in Issaquah and surrounding Eastside communities. Tavon provides inclusive, community?based programs focused on life skills development, social connection, creative expression, and meaningful participation in everyday community life. In addition to direct services for adults with IDD, Tavon offers vital respite and support for families, helping reduce caregiver stress while strengthening long?term independence and choice for their loved ones. Although Tavon serves participants from across the region, many of our program members live in Issaquah or regularly spend time in the city through Tavon activities, partnerships, and family connections. Our work is rooted in building strong, welcoming communities where people with disabilities are visible, valued, and fully included. At Salmon Days, Tavon Learning Center will use our advocacy booth to promote greater comfort, acceptance, and integration of people with IDD within the Issaquah community. We will engage festival attendees through friendly conversation, educational materials, and a simple Plinko game with small giveaway items such as native wildflower seeds, pens, and lip balm. These activities are designed to spark connection, encourage inclusion, and share Tavon’s mission in an approachable, family?friendly way.
